The New England Complex Systems Institute invites you to attend a free seminar introducing the opportunities that complex systems provides in research and in applications. We will describe the remarkable contributions that are being made in this field to the understanding of physical, biological, and social systems. The study of complex systems has been attracting increasing interest throughout the academic community and beyond, and there are many opportunities to enter and engage in research in this field.

Speaker:
Professor Yaneer Bar-Yam is President of the New England Complex Systems Institute, and he is the author of Dynamics of Complex Systems and Making Things Work: Solving Complex Problems in a Complex World.

Audience:
Open to students, faculty, and the public. This seminar is conceptually based. A mathematical background is not necessary.
